VEIL

Veil is defined by movement within mass. Formed predominantly from super white dolomite, the island presents a surface of mineral clarity, traced by fine black veining that moves across the stone with controlled expression. Light and dark exist in measured contrast, without excess.

The geometry departs from strict linearity. Stone and timber curve in continuity, their edges resolved through precise radii that soften the volume without diminishing its presence. The upper form extends beyond a recessed base, creating a balanced cantilever that lends the composition a sense of suspension.

Function is reduced to its most essential gesture. Rather than introducing applied elements, the stone itself is subtly machined beneath the tap, forming a shallow concave plane that guides water toward an integrated drain. The intervention is minimal, almost imperceptible — a controlled erosion within the mass, allowing utility to exist without interrupting form.

The black-stained timber base follows the curvature of the stone above, forming a disciplined dialogue between mineral and wood. Complexity is absorbed into clarity; craftsmanship is evident but never overstated.

In Veil, material and form remain inseparable. The dolomite is refined with restraint, its surface allowing the veining to remain expressive and authentic. The result is an island that occupies space with composure — sculptural yet inhabitable, precise yet fluid.
